The Southwest Oncology Network (SWON) managed by the Practice Managers’ Contracting Group (PMCG) represents over 125 practices throughout the Southwest as a resource for practice administrators and oncologists. Benefits include networking; educational teleconferences; a listserv; dedicated oncology coding consultant; access to hundreds of practice management forms, templates, and resources; and , most importantly, free membership in the SWON GPO.

The SWON GPO is available as an exclusive benefit for members. SWON was formed to help its members manage the largest expenses in the oncology practice and share documents and resources through the GPO and the oncology managers’ briefcase,   The GPO mission is to negotiate competitive pricing and additional rebates for participating practices.

SWON members obtain superior pricing; one price match—all price match policy; quarterly rebates on purchases; additional rebates on generic and pharmacy pre-fill products; and additional services at a reduced fee or free. SWON has selected Oncology Supply as its exclusive vendor for the GPO.

Competitive Pricing. In order to access the SWON pricing catalog, a practice must provide the following:

1.       Completed SWON application

2.       Signed non-disclosure agreement

Upon receipt of the items above, a SWON administrator or a representative from Oncology Supply will provide a copy of the confidential pricing catalog and a participation agreement.   Upon receipt of the signed participation agreement, SWON will provide notification to applicant containing the effective date of enrollment and additional membership information.

Quarterly Shared Administrative Fees . For practices that qualify, SWON will dedicate a percentage of its administrative fees to member practices commensurate with the total net volume of their purchases. Net volume rebates will be paid to member practices from SWON based on certain qualifications and criteria outlined below.

Qualifications
The qualifications to participate in the SWON Shared Administrative Fee Program are:

  • Must be a SWON member in good standing
  • Must have signed SWON Participating Agreement on file with SWON

Criteria
The Shared Administrative Fee Program will be based on total net purchases from Oncology Supply for each calendar quarter.  SWON members rebate program will start at the first day of the next month from the signed enrollment (i.e. if enrollment date is June 20th then rebate start date is July 1st.).

Reporting
SWON volume rebates will be paid based upon purchasing reports provided by Oncology Supply. Total Net Purchases are the total amount of ALL quarterly purchases at List Price (i.e. ZE payment terms), less any manufacturer off-invoice discounts (not including any manufacturer rebates or prompt pay discounts) minus credits applied to your account ,excluding payments applied to your account for this Program or Manufacturer pass-through credits.

Payment
Payments will normally be made within 45 days after the end of a calendar quarter. SWON reserves the right to change the terms or end this shared administrative fee program at any time.

SWON Price Matching Program. A huge benefit of SWON membership is group price matching for ZED or ZCIPS members. If a lower price is found, contact the OS representative or the SWON administrator and all practices (within the same terms) will receive the price match (certain restrictions apply). SWON encourages members to perform periodic market analysis to ensure our price book remains competitive.

Oncology Managers Briefcase (www.oncologymanagersbriefcase.com). As a member of SWON, practices are offered complimentary and unlimited access to the oncology managers’ briefcase website. OMB is a network for and by oncology healthcare professionals that provides resources for managers in an oncology practice. OMB is a user generated community for sharing professional documents. Practices will find policies and procedures; forms; checklists; job descriptions; a rolodex of consultants, pharma, associations, patient support; a library containing management and healthcare books (powered by Amazon), and so much more!
